Okay folks! Wow the people in here commenting horrible things about this author obviously don't adhere to the Satanic Tenets. SHAME ON YOU! If you are putting negative reviews about someone's work at least have a verified purchase with it. The fact that these negative reviews don't have a verified purchase and commenting biased self proclaimed prophetic thoughts is against Amazon policy. This isn't a message board and this author does not represent hatred and neither does Satanism, unless you belong to CoS ( which has become the church of sociopaths ). The author has every right to write a book, it doesn't mean you have to agree, but because you disagree doesn't mean all these hateful comments need to show up. Let people think for themselves! Leading a hate group against ONE AUTHOR is not in any way ,shape or form going to change his beliefs, his book or his principles. I clearly understand what this book has to offer, the words might be too big for some people , maybe a coloring book version might help some understand. The author is an excellent writer and when I read a book I really read, vocabulary, sentence structure , everything is on queue . The message is conveyed in a manner that is understood by those few educated that can actually appreciate the hard work put into this, he's trying to convey his ideals, his understanding and every negative comment on here is not from a verified purchase, therefore bringing the overall rating up . Amazon doesn't stand for slander and cyber bullying which is basically what I am seeing. I'm aware the 1 star comments come from a certain group of Satanists that are in fact very hateful and don't represent Satanism at all.

I found Damien Ba'al's tome to be an inordinately fascinating and engrossing read. Well thought out and well researched, his inclusion of metaphorical narratives and personal anecdotes makes for an enlightening look at the hypocrisy of modern religion. While modern religions hold themselves up as paragons of virtue and enlightenment to be worshipped and emulated, Ba'al pokes apertures in their flowery rhetoric by exposing the dark underbelly of religion, and bringing to the forefront the centuries of prevarications, oppression, torture, manipulation, and quest for riches and political power that are at odds with the "gospel" that they preach. Whether you accede with his views or not, it is a phrenic conception and thought-provoking read.

Anna Uhl Chamot, Ph.D., is a professor of secondary education and a faculty advisor for ESL at George Washington University’s Department of Teacher Preparation and Special Education.  She is a researcher and teacher educator in content-based second-language learning and language-learning strategies.  She has spent seven years implementing the CALLA model in K-12 public schools. Dr. Chamot is also an author of the Keystone and Cornerstone series.

A must have for the serious ESL teacher

This book is a must have for those,who have moved beyond survival. When preparing my lesson plans, I always have this book opened. It is not for the new teacher, who wants a ready made lesson to teach on Monday. This book will make you look at your practice and teach you how to give kids the tools they need to succeed in their mainstream classrooms.

I was required to read this book for a university course. I found the CALLA method very interesting and I believe it would help in the classroom, but the book is very repetitive. I was bored to tears much of the time as I read through it cover to cover, which I was required to do. There is a basic theme (using content area materials in ESL classes) which is covered in the first few chapters, then the rest of the book is variations on the primary theme. An exciting novel it is not, but as a book you use for reference rather than reading cover to cover, I recommend it.
