About the Author
Vildan Bahar Tuncay (1978-) holds a Ph.D. degree in Geography, a Master’s degree in Political Science, a Bachelor’s degree in Hispanic Studies and a certificate in Social and Cultural Anthropology (Laval University, Quebec, Canada). Her publications are mainly about indigenous social movements and social policies in Latin America. A faithful spectator of figure skating competitions since her childhood, she also published a book on Russian figure skating and legendary Russian athlete Evgeni Plushenko’s sporting career intertwined with the political and socio-economic changes of the last decades in Russia: The Return of the Firebird. Evgeny Plushenko an image of the New Russia. This scientific biography is her first study about Russia.

Don't buy this book!

This is a poorly written book. and it is way overpriced. There are multiple spelling errors and grammatical errors that were apparently not caught by the editor. I am not sure that any proofreading was done. The style of writing is more suitable for a college term paper, rather than a book. After nearly every sentence there is a reference in the bracket, which completely stops the flow of the text. Has the author never seen a book in print? It was unbearable to read this book. I had eagerly bought this book because it was about Evgeny Plushenko, and about Russia, but the way it is written makes it totally uninteresting, and very irritating to see so many errors. To make it worse, the pictures in it are black and white, small, and of poor quality. Save your money and don't buy this book. It's not worth my time to read such a poor quality book.
